SAP IBP sneak preview of 2502 release is out on December 16 2024. Similar to previous releases the Sneak preview has disappointed in some areas like Time Series Supply Planning, Demand Planning but there are lot of interesting developments in areas like Order Based Planing. Let’s walkthrough them together –
- Personalize SAP Fiori Launchpad with Your Company Logo – functionality wise this feature does not help at all however, it helps you personalize your IBP page. It would now be possible to display your company logo instead of SAP logo in FIORI launchpad
- Enhancement to Planner workspaces – there are several noticeable improvements and with each release SAP is trying to improve user experience of planner workspace. Some of the key improvements in this release are –
- Creating contextual navigations to an SAP GUI system, Web-based application etc
- Ability to search data bit more easily, ability to sort columns data
- Call up change history data from chart or planning views
- Ability to access tasks
- Support of MRP Areas in Order-Based Planning – this is the most significant improvements in OBP area, similar to APO it would now be possible to plan using MRP areas. These MRP areas can be integrated from source system and planned in IBP as if they are an isolated location
- New App: Manage Reconciliation Automation Profiles of Real-Time Integration – you would now be able to setup automated reconciliation profiles. These profiles can be used in background to define in which case the data should be corrected and which case not
- New Odata APIs – you have now two new Odata APIs, the first one would help to extract and load Sales order data and with second one you would be able to extract pegging information.
Additionally, SAP has now made characteristic based planning in general available for all customers, so you can enjoy benefits of it if you have scenarios where you want to model and plan based on characteristics.
